Karatepin-Carb Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Along the Karatepa elevation, the southeastern part of the Kara-Tyube Mountains. V.S. Korsakov in 1990 (1993). Stratotype there. Previously, the Karatepin-Carb Fm was considered part of the Tepalik Fm (Korsakov et al., 1984).
Synonym: Karatepinian Suite, Каратеренская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Conglomerates, gravellites, sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites), clay slates, rhyolites, and their tuffs, lava breccias. Thickness 200-600 m.

Lower contact
The lower contact is unclear
Upper contact
The upper contact is unknown (460).
Regional extent
Kara-Tyube Mountains. correlation with the Tepalik Fm of the Zirabulak-Ziaetdin Mountains and the Darahitisurkh suite of the Chakyly-Kalyan.
